Murugi Ndirangu is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Nutrition at Georgia State University. Dr Ndirangu has interest and experience with both rural and urban research issues. She was previously an Earth Institute Fellow at Columbia University in New York City. During that time she conducted research with the Millennium Villages Project (MVP). The MVP is attempting to implement the millennium development goals in twelve villages in ten African countries. Currently, Dr Ndirangu is working with multidisplinary teams of researchers and policy makers drawn from within and outside
GSU to continue developing her research interests in areas such as nutrition and HIV/AIDS, food security, international nutrition, immigrant health issues and using community based participatory approaches to implement nutrition interventions. She teaches courses that have relevance to urban health issues including nutrition interventions and policy, and perspectives on food and culture.
